Police called to Bombardier facility for “suspicious incident”

Police were called to investigate a suspicious package delivered to one of Bombardier’s Toronto facilities.

Police can’t confirm the package but the company said it was delivered in error and contained four military-grade guns labelled “property of the U.S. government.”

CTV said FedEx delivered the unlocked box and inside were two military-grade assault rifles and two handguns.

Questions are raised how a box of weapons crossed the US/CANADA border by a shipping company.

The packing slip confirms there was two boxes but only one arrived.

Bombardier told CTV they notified police as soon as the packages arrived.

“Bombardier confirms that a package was delivered in error to its facility in Downsview. Bombardier’s security personnel notified the police as soon as the discovery was made, and the misdirected package was immediately removed from the site.”

The packages were delivered from Utah in the United States.
