Pipe Bomb explosion in New York terrorist attack suspect 27-year-old lives in Brooklyn and may be of Bangladeshi descent

A 27-year-old suspect who lives in Brooklyn and may be of Bangladeshi descent is in custody after a pipe bomb explosion in the New York City Subway system this morning, the explosion happened in an underground passageway under 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues near Times Square.

The explosion happened around 7:30 a.m. ET and the suspect has non-life-threatening injuries, three other civilians were injured according to the latest report by Police.

Police say the incident is being investigated as a terrorist attack.

The homemade bomb was made from low-grade explosives and went off accidentally say police.

The suspects name has not been released yet.
