Colorado police say there’s “multiple deputies down” in a shooting that took place 15 miles south of Denver.
The shooting happened in Highlands Ranch, Colorado and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office don’t know the conditions of the deputies that are down.
The Douglas County Sheriff”s Office released a statement and issued a code red on Facebook:
Early this morning at approximately 5:13 AM, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance at the Copper Canyon Apartments, located on County Line Rd, between Colorado Blvd and University Blvd. During the investigation, shots were fired and multiple deputies were injured. At this time we do not have any further information on the status of the deputies involved. We do not have any information on civilian casualties at this time. The scene remains active please avoid the area.
A code red was issued for the affected area. If anyone is located within the affected area please shelter in place, avoid windows and exterior walls.
Due to the size and cope of this investigation an emergency shelter has been set up @ East Ridge Rec Center, located at 9568 University Blvd. in Highlands Ranch. If anyone has been displaced from their homes due to this event please feel free to head there.
