Democratic Party Pennsylvania County Chairman Asked to Resign from Post after ‘I Stand for the Flag’ Post

The modern day Democratic Party has crossed all limits and is making it really difficult for us to find sense in some of their actions. In a recent update, the party took against one of their very own for the most absurd reason and asked him to resign.

Allegheny County Democratic Party Chairman, Mark Salvas, is a former US Marine and has served the Party with full courage and responsibility.

However, party workers asked Salvas to step down as Chairman after detractors spotted a Facebook post from last year.

The post said, “I stand for the flag and kneel for the cross.” On a normal day, one would agree that there is nothing wrong with such a post, but to be honest, the Democratic Party of today is a mess. We wouldn’t be surprised to see their disgruntled faces at this post.

Salvas had also used his Facebook account to defend the police shooting of an aggressive black man, which led to deep resentment within the Democratic ranks. This was just too much of a difference in opinion for the local Democrats, and they took it upon them to force Salvas into resignation.

Salvas spoke to the media about the matter and said, “I was asked by the chair of the Allegheny County Democratic Party to resign my position due to the controversy that was taking place on social media, and I did. It’s never easy when people you have never met accuse you of things and call you names, and you’ve never met them.”

“I’m not ashamed of my patriotism, not one bit. I fought for this country. I think I have a right to have a voice and be patriotic,” says Salvas.
