Defence shoots down 71 of 103 missiles fired at Syrian airfield

President Donald Trump ordered air strikes on Syria late Friday night with support from France and Britain.

The attack on a Syrian airfield was on retaliation against chemical attacks that killed more than 50 civilians in Syria.

Military bases near the capital Damascus and the city of Homs were main targets.

Russian officials say 71 of 103 missiles were shot down by defence as reported by The Guardian.

British Prime Minister Teresa May called the mission successfully and legal.

Skies lit up the sky as videos surfaced online overnight.
