We do not know if Charlie Bucket and Willy Wonka have been there, but the result was catastrophic for this German chocolate factory.
A ton of melted chocolate spilled onto a street in Westoennen, Werl, forcing the fire department to find anything that could be used to mop up the (delicious) damage caused by a defective tank from the DreiMeister chocolate factory.-Advertisement-
The local newspaper Berliner Zeitung reported that firefighters had to use hot water, high-pressure hoses and torches to remove the hardened chocolate. They had to close the street and then shovel for two hours, to overcome the spill, says RTL .
But one can be reassured: “Despite this heartbreaking incident, it is unlikely that a Christmas without chocolate will take place in Werl,” said the Werl Fire Department.
