NDP Leader Singh: Is This His Time to Shine?

We’ve all seen the SNC-Lavalin controversy, and we also know that it has no end as of now, especially after it took an unexpected turn, when prime minister’s person resigned. Gerald Butts, who was a top Liberal help, and friend of Justin Trudeau, resigned from his principal secretary role in PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) during the allegations of interference in the criminal court case of SNC-Lavalin.

His resignation took place less than a week, after Jody Wilson-Raybould, who was the justice minister left his cabinet due to this controversy, as well. Both of them denied all the allegations that said that the office pressured the former attorney general to interfere in the case of SNC-Lavalin.

This might be the biggest political crisis that Liberals have seen since 2015, and all opposition parties can now take advantage of that. These allegations are very serious and can do a lot of harm for the Liberals. They had met a lot of trouble lately, especially when Canada’s ambassador to China resigned sometime last month, just a week after the Liberal candidate that came for Burnaby South also resigned.

The allegations are so serious that NDP wanted a public inquiry about this matter.

Voters can opt for others

It was lately suggested that there are bad news for the New Democrats everywhere. This month, the NDP was placed behind the Liberals and the Conservatives, with 13% of support from the entire nation. Now, many people see the party system as a two-party system. It’s been 15 months since the ex-Ontario MPP man has become the NDP leader, and now he’s trying to get a seat in the House of Commons. This could be Singh’s chance to get a place in the fall’s election.
