The authorities are asking for the help of the population to find a 41-year-old Quebecer who was traveling to Los Cabos, Mexico, about 10 days ago and who has been missing since.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Christine St-Onge, a native of Laval, left home on November 29 for a trip to Mexico “with a friend”. Ms. St-Onge and her friend were scheduled to return home on December 6.
However, the man in question returned home alone in Canada, December 5, and took his life the day after his arrival on Canadian soil, said Stéphane Tremblay, spokesman for the SQ.
Ms. St-Onge’s relatives have not heard from her since December 4, and Lavalloise never returned home as planned.
The Mexican authorities and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are collaborating in the investigation conducted by the SQ’s Crime Against the Person Investigation Department.
Mr. Tremblay was unable to say where the two Canadians resided during their vacation.
Christine St-Onge has blue eyes and blonde hair. It measures 1.63 m and weighs 55 kg.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact 911 or the Sûreté du Québec Criminal Information Center at 1-800-659-4264.
