Canada’s Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen says the new normal for immigrants to Canada is a number set at 300,000.
Hussen says immigrants drive Canada’s economy, they are a “big tool” to power Canada’s economy and address demographic challenges.
“The plan will continue to have a vast majority of immigrants coming in the economic class, because that is where the greatest need is, followed very closely by family class immigrants and then making sure that we continue to have space in our immigration levels plan for refugees that we resettle from abroad,” he told CBC.
Most of the Western Canada economy gets driven by oil, but over the last 3 years has been on a steady decline.
Ahmed Hussen forgot to mention the true “big tool” that drives Canada’s economy.
