How Differio Is Emerging as a Top Menswear Retailer in the U.S.

Today, men’s fashion is a multi-billion dollar industry, and there’s one online retailer that’s benefiting from this surge in stylish menswear. Based in New York City, Differio launched their menswear ecommerce in 2014 with plans to make trendy men’s clothing more prevalent and easily accessible for men all over the world.

Currently available online only, their retail site includes an expansive range of tops and bottoms, from cool tank tops to skinny corduroy pants. Aside from men’s streetwear apparel and accessories, they recently launched a footwear section for trendy men’s shoes, including men’s fashion sneakers, combat boots, and oxfords.

As a multibrand retailer, Differio predominantly sells items by independent brands and designers, along with their own Differio line. Their brand base is continuously growing with currently over 100 international labels, focusing on designers with an eye for bold, unique designs.

“Since we opened, we found a void in the menswear market for styles that are edgy and non-traditional, especially in the U.S.,” explained Jimmy Chrabieh, CEO and Chairman of Differio. With big plans ahead, he added, “Ultimately, our expansion strategy is to become the global retailer for trendy men’s clothing.”

If there’s anything they avoid, it’s the conventional men’s clothing styles carried by most classic menswear stores. Already outperforming womenswear, menswear sales in the U.S. alone is expected to reach $460 billion annually by 2020, according to Euromonitor International. Much of this revenue is driven by online sales, leading to faltering foot traffic across malls, boutiques and department stores.

Despite this retail demise, Differio reported they’ve seen an average monthly sales growth of 25-30% since 2014, as they’ve been able to dodge this store closure epidemic. While the future is in online retail, their steady growth isn’t purely from avoiding a chain of brick-and-mortar stores.

They’ve managed to build a loyal customer base that returns to their website for their edgy aesthetic, especially favored by millennials. Accumulating over 100k Facebook followers and 30k Instagram followers, their content easily goes viral by just posting edgy new arrivals and clever marketing campaigns. Some of their most popular items include dynamic compression pants, fur overcoats, utility kilts and slim fit jeans.

Additionally, Differio offers free U.S. and international shipping (rules apply), placing emphasis on making their customer checkout experience as seamless as possible. They even provide individual measurements for every item, instead of the generic universal size chart most online retailers resort to.

Differio is reportedly on track for expansion plans outside the U.S., with talks of branching out their wholesale opportunities.
